Protecting sensitive data using encryption is not new, but functionality in .Net 4.6 and SQL Server 2016 allows this without ever revealing the keys to the SQL server. This talk will be a brief review of existing encryption development methods and a taste of the new functionality.

Duncan Greaves is a Business Intelligence architect based in Adelaide. He has over 20 years’ experience in secure and accessible systems development, mainly in the areas of banking, utilities and healthcare. Duncan’s special interest areas are in security architecture and privacy.
