QLD Pearcey Award

WARDY IT Solutions founder and Chief Technical Architect Peter Ward is the proud recipient of the 2010 Pearcey Queensland Award. This award recognises and celebrates the achievements of Australia’s ICT and Digital Media entrepreneurs.

The award was presented by Robert Schwarten, the QLD Minister for Public Works and Information and Communication Technology at a gala dinner in Brisbane as part of the 2010 World Computer Congress (WCC). Peter was unable to accept the award in person as he was in Seattle working with Microsoft on a Software Design Review for the next release of SQL Server. However there was a Skype hookup from the award ceremony to Peter’s hotel room in Redmond.

The Pearcey State Awards are aimed at encouraging and rewarding fresh and innovative talent in the ICT profession. It is awarded to an individual during their career who have “taken a risk and made a difference” within the ICT industry within each Australian State.

The Pearcey Foundation Inc. was established in 1998 to raise the profile of the Australian Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Industry and profession. It was created in the memory of one of the greatest pioneers of the Australian ICT industry, Dr Trevor Pearcey. By celebrating the heroes in our industry, past present and future, the Foundation is looking to attract and encourage young Australians into this most exciting of global high technology sectors of our nation.
