Hermes

Named after the Greek God of Messaging, Hermes is an application that hosts .Net classes called Plug-ins. Hermes allows you to configure built in components or plug in custom components to perform tasks. There is a suite of plug-ins that are included with Hermes or you are free to develop your own.

 

How Hermes Works

Hermes is installed on a Windows Server and then administered via the Hermes Client Manager Application. Use the Client Manager to create Business Processes that correspond to your business workflows. These workflows map to Plug-ins which are classes in .NET Assemblies. Plug-ins are hosted in the Hermes Plug-in Container.

When creating a Business Process specify the class, assembly and any plug-in properties for Hermes to set when the plug-in is loaded. The Hermes Client Manager is used to administer Business processes and their corresponding Plug-ins. You can start, stop, deactivate, schedule, and individual Plug-ins as well as chaining Business Processes.
