Feb 2016 Microsoft Certification Update – SQL Server 2014

Microsoft Learning

Microsoft Learning is pleased to announce that they are refreshing their SQL Server related exams and certifications to have continued relevance for database professionals working with either SQL Server 2012 and 2014.

As of February 18, 2016, Exams 461 through 467 will include content covering both SQL Server 2012 and 2014. In January, a link to a document describing the corresponding changes in the exam was added to the Skills Measured section of each exam web page.

To reflect the inclusion of SQL Server 2014 content in Exams 461, 462463, Microsoft Learning is also rebranding the MCSA certification to MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014. As changes to each individual exam are modest in size and SQL Server 2012 skills remain relevant, all current certification MCSA: SQL Server 2012 certification holders will have their transcripts updated accordingly to reflect the new credential name.

As the MCSE certifications already do not reference product version, no changes in the titles of either MCSE: Data Platform or MCSE: Business Intelligence credentials will take place (see also the FAQs here).
