Microsoft has recently made the following announcement regarding the support of SQL Server on Windows Vista and “Longhorn” http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/sqlonvista.mspx. Basically earlier versions of SQL Server, including SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 7.0, and SQL Server 6.5, will not be supported on Windows Server “Longhorn” or Windows Vista. So this is just one more reason to start thinking about moving to SQL Server 2005 and for any new development to be performed on SQL Server 2005.
