The launch date for SQL Server 2012 has been announced as the 7th of March 2012. The launch of SQL Server 2012 will be marked by a Virtual Launch Event that you can register here for. Although the launch is different from General Availability when you can actually get your hands on the final build of SQL Server 2012, it means that RTM is very close. If history is anything to go by the release for SQL Server 2008 R2 was in April and the RTM was the following month.

With the December 2011 update to SharePoint 2010, you can now view your SharePoint BI solutions on your iPad using Safari. You can view PerformancePoint scorecards, analytic charts and grids, Excel Services reports, and SQL Server Reporting Services reports simply by using Safari. Virtual DBA on the Windows Phone

SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB

LocalDB is a new version of SQL Server Express created specifically for developers. It offers the same T-SQL language, programming surface and client-side providers as the regular SQL Server Express. LocalDB was created so that developers that use SQL Server no longer have to install and manage a full instance of SQL Server Express on their laptops or other machines.
