SQL Server 2012 is the next release of the Microsoft SQL Server data platform scheduled to be released in the first half of next year. This release was previously code-named SQL Server Denali. The name and release timeframes for the next release of SQL Server were announced by Microsoft Corporate Vice President Ted Kumert at the recent PASS Summit in Seattle.

Apart from the name and release schedule for the next release of SQL Server, a number of other announcements were made at the PASS Summit including SQL Server’s Big Data strategy and the naming of Power View (code-named Crescent) as well as the introduction of a new product code-named Data Explorer. Excel Services Data Refresh Flowchart

A new flowchart has been released for Excel Services that shows the sequence of actions performed by Excel Services when it refreshes data in a data-connected Microsoft Excel workbook that is being rendered by Excel Services. The flowchart also includes the connection errors that can occur at each step, and it suggests configuration steps to avoid or correct the errors. This flowchart can be downloaded from here.
